The Difference between Diabetic Diet and Diabetic Nephropathy Diet
The principle of diabetic diet is low calorie. The basic requirements are as follow: Control the intake of calorie,;Combine the foods properly (Such as the foods of appropriate sugar and protein, low fat, and eat more vegetables.); Eating little and often; No drinking; No smoking; Drink more water; and HRD.
As the complication of diabetic, there are still some differences between diabetic nephropathy diet and diabetic diet . Once the diabetic enters into the stage of complication, the patient must protect the function of heart, brain, kidney and so on. The treatment of diabetic nephropathy should combine the traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine. We should use western medicine to decrease blood glucose, and use traditional Chinese medicine to cure the complication.
The principles of diabetic nephropathy required the patient should eat the low protein foods with high quality. Milk is the most proper food of high quality. The second one are egg proteins, and then fish proteins, lean meat proteins. The plant protein is inferior protein, such as bean products, flour and rice should be forbid rather than increasing the pressure of the renal. The diabetic nephropathy patient should also pay attention on high calcium and low phosphorus foods. If the patients are hypoproteinemia, he could inject albumin and necessary amino acids through vein.
What’s more, the diabetic nephropathy always associated with hypertension, and may appear swelling and heart failure at the late stage. So that the diabetic nephropathy patients mustn’t intake too much salt. It’s better below 2g per day.
